I have worked for Stockton PD for 20 years. I have been running competitively since high school where I ran Track and Cross Country. I also ran with the International Sports Exchange where I competed in a 5K Cross Country race in Singapore. This was one of the highlights in my high school running career. I enlisted in the Air Force right out of high school and continued with my running. I competed on an Air Force Cross Country team for a short time then was deployed to Iraq in 1990 during the first Gulf War. I returned to California and exited the Air Force and was hired by Stockton PD. I married my beautiful wife Danielle in 1992. We currently have two sons (Tyler) and (Connor). They are my biggest supporters.

I have competed in many Police Olympics and won many medals in Track and Cross Country, but the medals do not compare to the friends I have met at these competitions. I have also competed in several Baker to Vegas Relays for the Stockton Area Team. I am a proud member of the Stockton SWAT Team and have competed in and won several SWAT competitions, including “The High Sierra SWAT Challenge”.

In 2007, I was invitied to run with “Team 911, We Run Code Three” in a 199 mile relay from Calistoga to Santa Cruz. The run was in honor of Ben Thornton. I knew Ben had a heart transplant, but I had not met him. The day of the race we meet with the team, old friends and now new ones. We our running in honor of Ben. I run every one of my legs as hard as I can in honor of Ben and look forward to meeting him at the finish. The finish is one the most specatacular and memorable finishes in my running career, getting to cross the line with a great kid like Ben.
